If you have made an user for yourself that you don’t want to show to everybody when they switch on your computer. Here is how you do the hiding / unhiding of Login names

  1. Start Regedit
  2. Go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon \ SpecialAccounts \ UserList
  3. Add a DWORD with the name of the user account you want to hide
  4. Make sure it has a value of 0
  5. If there is an existing account, you can unhide it by giving it a value of 1
